Dr. James W. Cortada has held a variety of sales and consulting management
and executive positions at IBM over the past 35 years. He is a leading authority
on the management and history of Internet Technology, and the author of over
three dozen books on IT. Jim serves on the editorial boards of several journals,
including the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, and on the publication
board of the Computer Society. He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in history.
For many years he served as the Chairman of the Charles Babbage Foundation,
the predecessor organization of the IT History Society.
