IT History Society Archival Database Growth Continues
The IT History Society Searchable Archival Database Passes the 800 Mark
San Francisco, CA (PrBuzz) September 10, 2011 – The IT History Society's online searchable archival database has just reached 800 entries.
“The IT History Society's IT online searchable database has grown to 800 entries in 18 months," said Jeffery D. Stein, Chairman of the Board. "The IT searchable online database is a one of a kind that provides access to only archival resources of most information technology archival sites of the information industry."

With a partnership with the Internet Archive and Archive-IT, the IT History Society provides to educators, researchers, and computer historians access to a fully indexed searchable access to 800 archival information industry sites of international collections. The database is expected to grow beyond 2,000 entries by the end of 2012.
The Society's membership presently includes over 600 historians and archivists, as well as institutions such as the Center for IBM, HP, INTEL, The Internet Archive, Technology Innovation, Charles Babbage Institute, Computer History Museum, IEEE History Center, Mid-Atlantic Retro Computing Hobbyists, McKesson, U.K. National Archive for the History of Computing, ACM History Committee, FedEx, Agilent, Applied Materials, Caltech, Computer Conservation Society, Deutsches Museum, Deltek, Microsoft, MIT, the Smithsonian Institution, and Symantec. Membership in the Society is complimentary due to the generous donations from the computer industry.
The IT History Society assists in the collaboration of like-minded institutions and individuals to expand the reach of historical and archival activities while at the same time communicating to the private sector the value of preserving their history and heritage for generations to come. The IT History Society is continually promoting the value of preservation of information technology corporate history with its many databases and acting as a gateway for the location of historical information as a teaching and research aid for colleges, universities and researchers in both the public and private sectors.
Another key databases is the IT Honor Roll Database includes individuals who have made a noteworthy contribution to the information technology industry.
