Current Projects Funded by ITHS

ITHS (including its predecessor organization CBF) has not generally carried out projects itself but has instead played a supporting and enabling role to other individuals and organizations by providing financial support, arranging access to records and individuals, or helping with publicity. The two notable exceptions to this practice were to work with Symantec on its 25th anniversary, and to work with the Computer History Museum and the Software History Center as an active partner in the Corporate History Project. ITHS involvement in both of those projects is now complete.

Current ITHS policy is to not undertake historical projects, for ITHS does not want to compete with other individuals and organizations working in the IT history field. Instead, ITHS aims to enable other individuals and institutions working in the IT history area. The only ongoing example of programmatic effort by ITHS is to organize an annual conference - and the primary purpose for these conferences is to help to build a sense of community and provide a place for IT history practitioners to address issues of common concern.

ITHS is currently focusing on building content on its website and building membership, and there are no outside projects being funded by ITHS at this time.
