Buypass AS is a leading supplier of user-friendly and secure solutions for electronic identification, electronic signature and payment. Buypass is also Norway's only issuer of internationally approved SSL certificates. Buypass was established in 2001 and since then has invested heavily in building up a unique environment of highly qualified developers of user-friendly security solutions, which also meet the most stringent security requirements of the market and the authorities. Buypass supplies solutions for the consumer market, private companies and public authorities. In november 2014 the company has 64 permanent employees and a varying number of hired-in/contracted staff. They are located in Oslo and in Gjøvik. Buypass is registered with Nasjonal kommunikasjonsmyndighet (Nkom) Authority as an issuer of qualified electronic ID, in accordance with the Act on E-signatures and has been declared compliant with the Self-Declaration Act and the Requirement Specification for PKI in the public sector. The company is also licensed by The Ministry of Finance as an e-money company in accordance with The Financial Institutions Act.
