Calhoun Vision

Calhoun Vision is focused on developing vision correction technologies for post-cataract surgery patients.

Calhoun Vision, Inc. was started in 1999 by Dr. Daniel Schwartz at UCSF and Dr. Robert Grubbs at Cal Tech. Together they conceived the idea of a light adjustable lens (LAL), the power of which could be changed after implantation in the eye by the safe, non-invasive application of light. Their first target was the field of cataract surgery, to eliminate refractive errors following intraocular lens implantation.
