Buy or sell orders placed in CampBX are matched against a parameterized database of other orders. If a perfect match is found, a bitcoin-to-USD trade is executed instantly. If there are no matching orders for the prices specified, the orders will remain open for up to 31 days. CampBX obtained the Payment Card Industry (PCI) certification and the McAfee Secure seal of confidence on June 28, 2011. CampBX was launched in 2011 and is based in Alpharetta, Georgia.
