Carbon is redesigning electronics with composites and advanced materials. Starting with the thinnest, lightest and most resistant smartphone ever. Carbon achieves this by using high-tech composite materials including carbon-fiber and Aramid Fiber prepregs that make the Carbon’s unibody. The device includes several other innovations such as an ultra-thin one-sided PCBA, heat diffusion with Graphene and an ultra-thin flexible glass that is incredibly resistant to shattering. We believe in accelerating the adoption of advanced materials in mass markets to not only further technological progress but also promote new levels of sustainability in the personal electronics industry. Global e-waste is a big problem largely ignored by the big players pushing plastic and aluminum products. We are exploring the benefits of composite materials as they are cheaper if recycled as opposed to plastic and aluminum which are cheaper if virgin. We have been doing R&D since late 2015 to industrialize the manufacturing process. Carbon is based in Berlin, Germany.
