The Centre for Irish and European Security (CIES) specializes in research and consultation advice in the field of civil security. The organization develops European policy initiatives to embed concepts of societal impact, a system of human values and ethics into the design and architecture of civil security solutions. The company’s recent research aims to embed societal governance as a feature of the conception phase and design process, with a view to adoption in the most recognizable state of the art research initiatives currently under development in Europe. The CIES has particpiated in almost two million euro worth of EU research projects under the European Security Research Programme from 2012 to 2018. DRIVER, ABC4EU, SOURCE, Slandail, PACT, SECILE, ETTIS are some of the projects handled by CIES. The CIES research output and evolving vision is undertaken by a cross-disciplinary team, whose specialist expertise is used to ensure that the work is beneficial across all stages of the development and implementation process. The Centre for Irish and European Security was established in 2008 and is based in Dublin, Ireland.
