Company Description

Advocacy group for crowdfunding in Australia

The Crowd Funding Institute of Australia (CFIA) was founded in 2014 by five crowdfunding platforms - TMeffect, Equitise, ASSOB, Pozible, and Chuffed. Since foundation, platform membership has grown substantially to include CrowdfundUp, OzCrowd, OurCrowd, SproutBack, TeamBus, and FatHen. These platforms and their talented founders are part of the ongoing mission to support a healthy and successful crowdfunding industry in Australia. As the first industry association for Crowdfunding professionals in Australia, the CFIA has been instrumental in lobbying for crowdfunding reforms, increasing public awareness, and creating a more cohesive industry structure. As an organisation run by members for all its members, the CFIA fills a unique and important role to champion local innovation, act as a national voice for crowdfunding, make research and education available to members, assist with job creation, and engage in advocacy on behalf of members.
