Cumulonimbus builds pressureNET, an application that runs on Android and periodically collects atmospheric pressure data from on-board barometers. The app sends this data to their servers, where they store and then disseminate it to research partners. They're collaborating with atmospheric science researchers to make the best use of the data. The live weather data collected at that scale could be valuable and could be used to create highly accurate short term weather forecasts.
