Digitary was established to provide security software design and development services for corporate clients such as Intel, Siemens and Baltimore Technologies. Using their considerable experience in security software design and development, Digitary built the world's first implementation of a secure electronic European Diploma Supplement in 2005. Since then, over 39 Higher Education institutions in Ireland, UK, Portugal and Australia have used their technology to secure a variety of official documents, and the Digitary approach is now the basis for a number of national and international technical standards. To date, over 700,000 secure documents have been issued through Digitary by their customer institutions, and this figure is rapidly growing. 800,000 students have Digitary credentials and over 140 Higher Education professionals use Digitary. The worlds top 10 and the UKs top 10 universities have used Digitary to issue, share or verify student credentials.
