Dodgeball was a location-based service based around SMS. Google acquired it in 2005, but the team left in 2007. Google shut down the service in 2009, the same year [Foursquare](/organization/foursquare) (also co-founded by [Dennis Crowley](/person/dennis-crowley)) was started.
