Ecoles de Saint-Cyr Coetquidan is the foremost French military academy. Founded by Napoleon Bonaparte, Ecoles de Saint-Cyr Coetquidan owes the creation of the Special Military School (ESM) of Saint-Cyr in 1802. She moved to Saint-Cyr near Versailles in 1808. For 150 years it formed there elite officers. After the 1870 war, the moors of Coëtquidan were used as artillery field and parade ground where was created at the beginning of the century, the current camp. During the 1914-1918 war mobilized units came there in large numbers to learn before they left for the front. Between the wars, troops maneuvering follow one another and built camp is growing. The buildings of the Military Academy of Saint-Cyr (near PARIS) were destroyed in 1944, the decision was taken in 1945 to temporarily form the active officers of the Earth Coëtquidan army in a school named Military Academy Interarmes. In 1961, the separation takes place in two distinct schools: Special Military School of Saint-Cyr (ESM); Military School Interarmes (EMIA). Both schools train officers of arms. In 1977, a third school is created Coëtquidan designed to train cadets services of the Army, the Health Service, the service Essences: it is the Military School of the Technical and Administrative Corps (EMCTA ). In 2010 born the Military School of Administration, the result of the merger between EMCTA and Higher Military School of Administration and Management (EMSAM) of Montpellier. the military administration school was dissolved in 2013 and the Triumph part of its duties were transferred to the school of Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan.
