Equinox Publishing Ltd is an independent academic publisher founded in London in 2003 by Janet Joyce. (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich> Blackwell Publishing> Pinter Publishers> Continuum > Equinox) and, since mid-2011, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. They publish journals, textbooks, anthologies, monographs and reference books in the areas of archaeology, linguistics, cultural history, the academic study of religion, cookery and popular music. Within the cookery and popular music lists they also publish books that attract a more general readership (see subject area listings on this website). In 2014 they have a back list of approximately 215 published books. They are currently publishing around 35 books per calendar year as well as 41 journals.
