F2i - Fondi Italiani per le infrastrutture SGR, established in 2007, is an asset management company and creator of the largest closed-end fund in Italy. The Fund features the collaboration of some of the major Italian banks, banking foundations, major international investment banks, institutions and pension funds. The First F2i Fund, authorized in August 2007 by the Bank of Italy, collected 1,852 million euros, later invested in various infrastructure sectors and major companies, such as Metroweb, SEA, Alerion Clean Power, Infracis, Sagat and GESAC. The Second F2i Fund was set up in July 2012, with a collection target of 1,200 million euros, and it closed its fund raising in July 2015 with a total fund size of 1,242.5 million euros: among main investments are 2i Rete Gas, SIA, a second share of SEA and Kos. The Fund is led by Renato Ravanelli (CEO) and Massimiliano Cesare (Chairman).
