With a permanent capital base and no investment constraints, we are able to creatively structure and execute transactions with growth-oriented companies as our time horizon is not influenced by the restrictions of typical fund arrangements. We can participate at various levels within the capital structure in private and/or publicly traded securities and are willing to make both growth and control investments across a variety of industries. We employ our strategies through direct investments as well as through strategic partnerships, focusing on high-quality businesses with long-term growth prospects. While Shumway Capital focuses on investing, we are also committed to giving back. As a strong proponent of education reform, Mr. Shumway established The Shumway Foundation with the primary goal of helping to break the cycle of poverty through better opportunities in public education.
