Swipecast allows advertising agencies, fashion retailers and designers to hire models, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, art directors and casting directors directly over an iPhone, iPad or desktop, without having to go through an agency. Swipecast charges just 10% vs. 40% charged by agencies, by eliminating the 'middle man.' Swipecast aims to roll up the entire 1099 freelance industry by enabling them to connect directly with each other, view each others' profiles, and book each other over the app. Users get paid in 2 days, vs. 3-5 months, when paid through traditional agencies. The total addressable market globally is about $50 billion, including the 'long-tail' of the industry.
