Its objective is to strengthen local tech communities and provide entrepreneurs a place to get informed, get connected, and get inspired. Tech.Co dedicates itself to covering news, how-to’s, up-and-coming startups, and industry trends and hosting the popular Tech Cocktail events in cities across the U.S. and abroad, including local mixers, breakfasts, conferences, festivals, and more. It has hosted events in many local and foreign cities that include Chicago, D.C., Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Boulder, Austin, and more. Tech.Co/ Tech Cocktail was founded in 2006 by [Frank Gruber](http://www.crunchbase.com/person/frank-gruber), former [Tribune](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/tribunecompany) and [AOL](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/aol) product strategist, long-time tech blogger, and new media pioneer and [Eric Olson](http://www.crunchbase.com/person/eric-olson-3), early Feedburner employee.
