Hardware Description
The 9090 and 9060 were Commodore's only released hard drives for the CBM/PET line of computers and IEEE-488 interface. This is a shame. All the more because they are so hard to find, and in such demand by PET users like myself.
These hard drives come in 5 and 7 megabyte varieties, and are fully accessible via the standard CBM DOS commands and Basic 4.0. Depending upon the size of the hard drive, these can take at least an hour or more to fully format. When formatted, the full drive space is available as a single humungous directory on drive 0. The lack of directory support in CBM DOS is painfully evident when dealing with such a monstrous amount of space (remember, a 32K machine does not require very large files).
