Description:
This one-day course emphasizes the development of electronic records processing strategies, with an emphasis on low-barrier methods that facilitate both preservation and access. You'll learn how to evaluate standards, systems, and workflows to develop a descriptive control over born-digital or digitized materials. A variety of tools will be introduced and, in a series of exercises, you'll use a subset of those tools to arrange and describe some sample electronic records, seeking to preserve their provenance and authenticity while also making them accessible for near-term and long-term use.
