Doug Chance

Executive Vice President of Hewlett Packard's Network Systems Sector, Chance held various engineering, marketing, and general management positions at Hewlett Packard, sharing responsibility for overall corporate management in that role from November 1993 to October 1994. He received his BSE from Princeton University in 1964 and his MBA from Stanford University in 1966.

In addition to being a self-employed consultant, Chance served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Octel Communications Corporation, a developer of voicemail systems, from November 1990 to November 1993. Chance then served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of WYSE Technology Inc. from 1994.

He has served on many corporate and non-profit boards of directors in Silicon Valley, including Community Foundation Silicon Valley, PayEase, Inc., and Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. Chance also served as a Director of Centigram Communications Corp. from 1997 and of Network General Corporation from 1995.
