Eric Horvitz

Recognized for playing a significant role in establishing the credibility of artificial intelligence, Horvitz has also helped establish the link between artificial intelligence and decision science. Horvitz coined the concept of bounded optimality, a decision-theoretic approach to bounded rationality.

As a Distinguished Scientist at Microsoft, his research interests have spanned theoretical and practical challenges in developing systems that perceived, learned, and reasoned.
