Bio/Description
Creator of the FAR file manager, RAR compression format, and WinRAR archiver, Roshal developed WinRAR as a shareware file archiver and data compression utility, first releasing it in the fall of 1993. It has been one of the few applications able to create RAR archives natively, because the encoding method has been held to be proprietary.
