Bio/Description
Pioneering IT use in business and the teaching of systems analysis in universities, Land began his career in computing as an analyst programmer with LEO—the Lyons Computer—in 1952. He left in 1968, having risen to the position of Chief Consultant, to establish teaching and research into "systems analysis" at the London School of Economics.
Land became the first Professor of Systems Analysis in the UK and subsequently has served as Emeritus Professor in the LSE's Department of Management's Information Systems and Innovation Group.
