Heather Hinton

Recognized as an IBM Distinguished Engineer and IBM Master Inventor, Hinton built a career of more than 25 years in computer security. She earned a Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Security from the University of Toronto.

Hinton received an IBM Corporate Patent Portfolio Award for her patent work in single sign-on and identity federation. As IBM Hybrid Cloud CISO, she was responsible for the adoption of secure engineering practices and compliance with security and privacy requirements across IBM's hybrid cloud offerings. She was inducted into the WITI Hall of Fame in 2019.
