Bio/Description
Founder of Code for America and a key figure in bringing civic technology to the forefront of American public policy, Pahlka served as U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer from June 2013 to June 2014 and helped found the United States Digital Service.
Before her government work, Pahlka worked at CMP Media in the computer game industry and served as co-chair and general manager of the Web 2.0 conferences. In June 2023 she released her book, Recoding America: Why Government Is Failing in the Digital Age and How We Can Do Better, examining the challenges of digital transformation in government.
