Bio/Description

An American librarian, best known for founding ResourceShelf.com and originating Price's List of Lists, "a database of ranked listings of companies, people and resources freely available on the Internet". He was formerly employed by the search engine Ask.com as Director of Online Information Resources. He also started DocuTicker a daily update of new full text reports and documents from government, non-government organizations, think tanks, and other organizations. He lives near Washington, DC. He received a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Kansas, and a Masters of library and information science from Wayne State University. For a time he was a reference librarian at George Washington University. He co-authored the book The Invisible Web (see Deep Web) with Chris Sherman. He left ResourceShelf and DocuTicker as of 2011, and he and his writing partner Shirl Kennedy have started INFODocket and Full Text Reports. He won the Special Libraries Association's "Innovations in Technology Award" in 2002, and their News Division's "Agnes Henebry Roll of Honor Award" in 2004. He was also awarded the Alumni of the Year Award from Wayne State's Library and Information Program.
