Lynda Weinman

Founder of lynda.com, a pioneering online software training website, Weinman built the platform with her husband, Bruce Heavin, before LinkedIn acquired it in April 2015 for $1.5 billion.

A self-taught computer specialist, Weinman worked in the film industry as a special effects animator before transitioning to education. She taught computer graphics, animation, interactive design, and motion graphics as a faculty member at ArtCenter College of Design, UCLA, the American Film Institute, and San Francisco State University's multimedia studies program. She authored several books.
