Hardware Description
The 16000 Series MB-16001 was released as a highly-functional personal computer, equipped with a 16-bit CPU and 320KB of standard memory (upgradeable to a maximum of 576KB). It used the MS-DOS operating system, and supported a variety of languages such as FORTRAN and COBOL. This was a personal computer positioned to go beyond individual use and be practical in real-world business and scientific/engineering applications. This was achieved by providing support for color graphics and kanji display, and striving for general-applicability and expandability. This machine was completed in 1982.
