Bio/Description

Founder of F International, a software company initially employing only women, Shirley built her vision that software could provide an outlet for the skills and creative ability of housebound women into a major software house in the UK.

Shirley served as President of the British Computer Society and received the award of DBE from the Queen for her services and for her charity work. She played a major role in setting up the Oxford Internet Institute.
