ZS Pharma develops ion trap therapies for the treatment of life-threatening medical conditions such as hyperkalemia and liver diseases.

ZS Pharma, founded in 2008, is a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company based in Coppell, Texas and Menlo Park, CA. Our core focus is the research and development of highly selective ion-trap therapies to treat serious medical conditions. Our lead therapeutic candidate, ZS-9, is a novel treatment for hyperkalemia, a life-threatening condition that affects patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, and/or chronic heart failure. Hyperkalemia is characterized by abnormally high concentrations of potassium in the blood. ZS-9 is currently being tested in late stage clinical trials. ZS Pharma is also pursuing the discovery of additional drug candidates that utilize selective ion-trap technology for the treatment of liver disease.
