axle ai brings the power of machine learning to the problem of searching and managing terabytes of video content.

axle ai develops radically simple browser-based software that makes it easy for content creators to search their media files. The software catalogs media either on premise, or in the cloud and creates low-resolution proxy versions of the files, then presents them in an intuitive browser interface that can be viewed on Macs, PCs and mobile devices. The company recently rebranded as axle ai to emphasize the importance of artificial intelligence to the media space. axle is rapidly growing and privately held; we already have well over 450 sites including many prominent reference customers in corporate, sports, religious, government, postproduction and broadcast segments. Our software supports browser and mobile front ends as well as a plug-in for Adobe's Premiere Creative Cloud software. axle's software costs $500 to $50,000 depending on configuration; our SaaS version, axle Media Cloud, is priced from $400 to $1,000 per month. Sam Bogoch, CEO was previously director of product management for Interplay and Media Central media management products at Avid, and before that ran Torque Systems, an SF Bay Area systems integration company in the media space. Sam is a hands-on technologist who knows the segment deeply; he has operating experience and P/L responsibility over two decades. Patrice Gouttebel, product manager, previously developed a DAM for the photo imaging space and is capable of working directly with both customers and developers, and bridging the gap between them in a highly responsive way. The team uses the latest Web technologies (RESTful APIs, Javascript frameworks) and Agile development. axle won Best of Show awards at two major conferences: IBC 2012 in Amsterdam, and at NAB 2013 in Las Vegas.
