Bloom is building a consumer-facing webservice that provides applications and experiences on iOS, Android, and html5/webGL platforms that combine the power of data visualization with the engagement of casual gameplay to present users with powerful new ways to discover what is interesting in their social graph, in the media libraries and distributed file systems they have access to, and in locations where they work and live. As consumers move into more casual modes of media computing, we will provide new experiences that change the way they playfully interact with the meaningful information that flows through their life every day. Our users authenticate across a variety of the most popular and useful web APIs, like Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Dropbox, and Google Reader. They then can choose from an ever-growing collection of what we call 'instruments' to explore and interact with the data provided from these services in all-new playful and compelling ways.
