Creating a social platform called DOCET for learning validation

We are creating game-like social platform called DOCET that enables users to rate and validate each others knowledge and learning outcomes. The problem Docet solves is an individual’s dependency on a regulated body to certify what he/she has learned to generate any social capital for the knowledge gained. Today e-learning solutions offer easy access to content through online courses and tutorials. However a vast majority of users enrolling (over 90%), drop out before gaining a certificate from the content creators (mostly universities). Docet enables users to gain value for even incremental learning that people achieve including for content freely accessible on the Internet and even knowledge gained offline through real-life experiences. Organisations face this problem in a huge way as theoretically all employees start at the same level and quantifying continuous learning which includes on-the-job experience that adds to one’s knowledge, is difficult to say the least. Also there is the problem of identifying talented individuals, who fit in to the needs of the organization, without a clear understanding of all the inherent skills of prospective employees. By incorporating a level based validation system, like playing your favorite game, Docet maps incremental progress in learning in all the areas of one’s interest. So matter how much or how little the gains in knowledge is, the user gains value for it with total autonomy in choice of source and topic of content.
