Chabot College

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is governed by a seven-member board of trustees.

At Chabot College in Hayward, California, one can find comprehensive two-year degree offerings and career training as well as impressive cultural arts offerings. Chabot has over 175 subject areas from which to choose and offers over 100 two-year degrees and certificates. Career programs at Chabot include Automotive Technology, Dental Hygiene, Fire Technology and Medical Assisting. For those who wish to transfer to a four-year school, degrees are also awarded in a broad spectrum of liberal arts, humanities and science-based subjects. Chabot also provides basic skills classes and continuing education programs. Student life at Chabot is one particularly dynamic feature of the school. The campus houses a 1,400 seat performing arts center, a 200-seat theatre, a planetarium, four large athletic fields, an Olympic sized swimming pool and a student-operated radio station and television studio. Financial aid is available to eligible students through standard loans and grants and through numerous state-wide service programs for special populations. Chabot has an open admissions policy with admittance to certain programs having certain additional requirements.
