Company Description

CPAWSB delivers the post-graduate education for prospective CPAs in Western Canada, and previously CAs prior to the merger of designations.

The CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) oversees the education of candidates enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP), students enrolled in the Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF) and CPA preparatory courses in the four western provinces and in the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. CPAWSB was originally formed in 2000 as the CA School of Business (CASB) by the Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan Institutes of Chartered Accountants to deliver the professional education program for prospective Chartered Accountants. In 2011, the three main accounting bodies in Canada, representing CAs, CGAs, and CMAs, agreed to replace those designations with the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. CASB formally evolved to become CPAWSB in 2015.
