e-Governance Academy, an Estonia-based consultancy company, creates and transfers knowledge and practices to open information societies.
e-Governance Academy is a think tank and consultancy organization that creates and transfers knowledge and practices concerning e-governance, e-democracy, and the development of open digital societies. It trains and advises professionals and stakeholders in using information and communications technology to increase government efficiency and to improve democratic processes. Additionally, the organization assists in the implementation of e-government technical solutions. e-Governance Academy has trained over 2500 officials from more than 50 countries and led or participated in more than 50 international ICT projects on the national, local, and organizational levels. The organization has mainly worked in transitional societies, especially in Central, Eastern Europe and in Africa. Its additional cooperation projects have taken place with EU countries such as Finland, Sweden, and Latvia. e-Governance is an independent and mission-based non-profit, non-governmental organization, brought into existence by the United Nations Development Program, Open Society Institute, and the Government of Estonia in 2002. It is audited annually by an internationally accepted audit company, currently KPMG Baltics and follows the Code of ethics of Estonian non-profit organizations.
