Edelkrebs AG specializes in keeping, fattening and propagating native crayfish in closed-loop systems. It was founded on 27.03.13 and is a spin-off of the ZHAW ( www.zhaw.ch ), which from 2011 to 2013 as part of a CTI project in cooperation with the Alex Gemperle AG ( www.gemperle.ch ) the basics developed to the noble cancer mast in circulatory systems. The aim of the Edelkrebs AG is to translate the knowledge gained from the biological foundations into an ecologically sustainable circulatory system suitable for crayfish and grayling. By 2018, a productive plant with a production volume of one ton of crawdads and 10 tons of grayling is to be operated for food purposes. Already now the generated knowledge can be used for the propagation of native cancers as well as the European grayling for the conservation of species.
