Independent news website founded by philanthropist Graeme Wood who also established the revolutionary travel portal wotif.com. Wood committed $15 million over 5 years when the site launched in February 2012, however disappointing traffic and a significant fall in the value of his wotif shareholding resulted in him withdrawing support two years after the launch. Management and journalists began looking for new philanthropic and commercial partners to fund the venture beyond Wood's cut-off date of February 20 2014.
