Company Description

Long-term growth investor in European technology companies with focus on minority stakes.

Established in 2010, HPE Growth Capital (“HPE”) is an independent private equity firm focused on expansion/growth capital investments in technology companies throughout Northern Europe, with an emphasis on Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. HPE focuses on technology growth companies that have shaken off the risks associated with venture-type investments and have an option to leverage their proven technology and status of local champion. Such companies already have blue-chip customers, protected intellectual property portfolios, profitable margins/unit economics, competent management teams and a growth track record. In essence, they do not need money to survive but have an ambition to accelerate topline growth through international marketing & sales expansion as well as buy-and-build strategies. HPE acts as the catalyst to expansion by bringing new equity and active support to its portfolio companies. Typically, we aim to deploy about EUR 10 to 30 million in equity per transaction for a significant minority position. HPE defines its technology focus broadly, ranging from Software, Internet and Transaction Platforms, to Energy Technology, New Materials and Industrial High-Tech companies that are “asset light” and scalable. HPE has a global network with offices in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf. Recent investments include companies such as Kreditech, Airborne and PPRO.
