I speak foreign helps a user who wants to learn a new language by providing them with access to language snippets submitted by the community members in a manner designed to help them quickly gather the specific knowledge they desire. A user will login in, select the language they are interested in learning and are presented with categories and phrases available for their selected language. They then select the phrases that are interesting to them and add to a custom course they create for themselves. The content varies depending on the language and is a mix of visual, audio and written prompts to help the user master the phrase. Once comfortable with the snippets the user has learned, they can request to be put in contact with another user who is fluent in the newly learnt language and that is learning the users first language. This creates a low pressure learning experience for both users to test drive their new knowledge and adds an additional social element to the service.
