Inari is the leading developer of Powerline networking technology, that allows for high-speed data transmission over a existing AC wiring.
Inari is the leading developer of Powerline networking technology, a technology that allows for high-speed data transmission over a home’s existing AC wiring. With Powerline, users can network PCs to share an Internet connection and transfer data or network appliances to stream multimedia and control smart devices. Inari was formed in January 1997 when Novell spun-off the Powerline technology portion of Novell’s Embedded Systems Technology (“NEST”) division. Capitalizing on Novell’s investment of more than $25 million and a decade of network development experience, Inari retained the inventor and core engineers of NEST that were developing Powerline technology based on a vision to extend networking and facilitate the connection of intelligent devices. Originally called Intelogis, the company introduced the industry’s first Powerline network adapter, the PassPort PlugIn Network kit in 1997. After shipping approximately 50,000 kits in this first release of its technology, Inari announced a shift in business focus in late 1999 from being a product company to becoming a silicon provider of Powerline chipsets. As a silicon provider of Powerline chipsets for OEMs in consumer electronics, Internet appliance, networking, PC and other marketplaces today, Inari assures developers rapid market entry with a proven, mature technology, chosen by industry leaders for implementation in Powerline-enabled products. Today Inari is at the forefront of Powerline innovation as the first Powerline company to ship volume silicon and to put product on the market. Inari’s chipsets are easy to implement and deliver winning Powerline products for developers.
