Linguistadores helps learners make a new language part of their daily life by connecting them to authentic news, music, and videos in their target language. Linguistadores puts the learner's interests at the center, offering smart tools for turning entertainment into effective learning opportunities. Our technology is focused on sewing the language learning process into the routines of daily life. For example, our article crawler is equipped with an algorithm which analyzes text difficulty. Applied to news and special interest websites, articles are indexed and categorized. Based on the user’s settings, the targeting algorithm fetches articles specifically suitable for the user’s proficiency level and according to designated categories. The result is a customized assortment of current news articles for each user. Further, the built-in translation tool is centered on advanced lemmatization technology which allows it to distinguish which part of speech a word is and deliver the best translation suggestions (i.e. cook can either be a noun or a verb). This tool also combines several dictionaries to return more complete options.
