Saving Cyclist lives through wearable tech and data!

Cycling is one of the fastest growing forms of commute around the world, and cycles (+accessories) is projected to be a USD 60 Billion industry by 2020. However, cycling suffers from one universal problem – lack of safety. Hence, we decided to solve this problem through Aster, the World’s safest cycling backpack (https://igg.me/at/Aster ). Aster solves safety through two ways – 1. Improving visual communication of cyclists by building a world-class brake light (patent pending), high-viz turn-indicators, crash detection and emergency E-alerts , and 2. by building a unique repository of data around cycling safety (e.g. safe/unsafe routes and times, thefts by location) useful to all - from cyclists to local Government to insurance agencies. This would be the first working crash-alert solution deployed for 2-wheeled transport anywhere in the world. Our talented team (engineers from IIT + designers from NIFT) has built and sold Solar backpacks to cyclists in 16 countries and understands product development.
