Colon Cleansing During Screening Colonscopy

Mouts GI Medical Technologies develops medical technologies for diagnosis and treatment of large intestine diseases. Their flag product, Pure-Vu, is designed to clean a poorly prepped colon during a colonoscopy procedure, which may reduce the dependency on a successful pre-procedural prep regimen to gain clear visualization of the colon mucosa. The system consists of a disposable single-use over-sleeve and a workstation controller. The disposable over-sleeve fits easily over standard colonoscopes and is connected to the workstation. Pure-Vu does not interfere with the working channel or the navigation or advancement of the colonoscope. The workstation controls a novel irrigation technology that creates a pulsed mixture of water and air through 4 jets to loosen fecal material and an efficient evacuation cycle that effectively removed considerable colon content. It also has an auto-purge technology to prevent clogging. MOTUS has now evolved its technology to a commercially viable status and has filed a 510(k).
