Next Wave Ventures

The Rising TIde Angel Training Program launched two learning by doing funds in the US and Europe. The US one is co-managed with Portfolia.

The goal of Next Wave Ventures is to drive diversity in high growth entrepreneurship and angel investing by increasing the participation of underrepresented groups. The first initiatives of Next Wave Ventures are the Rising Tide US Fund I, which is co-managed with Portfolia, and the Rising Tide Europe Fund I, managed by Go Beyond Investing. These learning by doing funds seek to narrow the gender gap in angel investing by providing women the education and training they need to become sophisticated angel investors, while offering them a unique learning opportunity that allows them to build a diversified portfolio of investments, receive mentoring by women who are experienced angel investors, as well a diversified online education & training program and opportunities for local, regional, and national events, including a women’s investor summit in San Diego in October 2016, which is sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation. Future programs will focus on minority investors, social impact investing, investing in emerging markets, and investments that disrupt animal agriculture.
