Company Description

OKWAVE created Japan's first Q&A community site.

OKWAVE created Japan's first Q&A community site. The origin behind the company name comes from 'Oshiete' (Japanese for 'tell me') and 'Kotaeru‘ ('answer') which outlines the flow of Q&A. Being centred on the concept of gratitude as being a Q&A 'community' user's help each other, OKWAVE aims to spread the concept of 'arigato' (meaning 'thanks' in Japanese) throughout the world like a 'wave'. After achieving the top spot in the Japanese market, OKWAVE aspires to bring all the people of the world together in one international Q&A community through high quality service and by focusing on the concept of 'arigato'. In October of 2010, OKWAVE launched the world's first 'international social Q&A' service ARIGATO and aims to expand its services to over 20 languages and over 200 countries by 2012. Although up until now many Japanese companies have failed at entering foreign markets, OKWAVE is confident that the concept of gratitude or 'arigato' is one that truly transcends geographical and linguistic boundaries. With this mission in heart, OKWAVE is determined to provide the best Q&A experience for users around the world.
