Ramphastos Investments is a venture capital and private equity investment firm owned, funded and led by Dutch entrepreneur-investor Marcel Boekhoorn. We are specialized in growth investments through buy-and-build, innovations, new markets and partnerships. We are currently focused innovation-driven companies with a unique competitive position that show worldwide growth potential by tapping into a major underlying trend such as the internet of things, security or wireless connectivity. Marcel Boekhoorn is joined at Ramphastos Investments by a team of ten partners who bring a wealth of investment and management experience share a passion for entrepreneurship and helping companies grow to create long-term value. We hold interests (mostly majority stakes) in more than 20 companies across a range of sectors, from fashion (McGregor Fashion Group) to ultra wide-band antennas for mobile networks and handheld devices (Antenna Company), high performance glass for the aviation industry (AviationGlass), voice authentication technology (VoiceTrust) to payment management and payment processing solutions (UC Group), online brokerage (TradeKing), the Netherlands’ prime science park (High Tech Campus Eindhoven) and energy. We are actively involved in defining and executing our companies’ growth strategies together with their management, and we pride ourselves in adding value. We believe that good management and employees hold the key to the success of these businesses. We work with a great deal of independence and are quicker, more flexible and often more creative than other investors – and unlike the majority of private equity investors, we are not looking for quick exits and short-term profit. We aim to build value in the long term. Our approach has proven successful to date with returns that in many cases vastly outperform those of our peers.
