Renovisor has created an online marketplace for homeowners to receive unbiased, customized, home renovation advice, and guidance from freelancing industry professionals. The online marketplace model has been proven successful in markets such as website development by companies such as Odesk, Elance, and others. Now, Renovisor is bringing a similar marketplace model to help homeowners with their home remodeling projects. Unlike other sites such as Angie's List, and Home Advisors, that offer a contractor matchmaking service for homeowners, Renovisor's approach is to offer services of experts to act as advocates and advisors for the homeowner throughout their renovation projects. The idea of Renovisor was born when it's founder couldn't find an affordable service to help answer some specific questions he had about his home renovation project. Online resources were generic and hiring a designer or renovation consultant was just too expensive for a small kitchen renovation project.
