Tierra Telecom (Tierra) has developed proprietary technology, positioning itself to become the leading Internet telephony service provider (ITSP). The technology delivers high-quality, packetized voice traffic over the Internet in the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) format. Because of latency and packet-loss problems, no ITSP to date carries a significant portion of packetized voice traffic over the Internet. However, Tierra's MicroPOP and PicoPOP gateways are able to successfully contend with the operating realities found on the congested public network. Our software performs two critical functions: IP packet loss replacement and real-time repathing. With this advanced switching platform, we can effectively carry toll quality voice traffic on the Internet, placing us well ahead of the competition.
